Description

Deep-well continuous casting is a continuous casting process in which the main body of the continuous casting equipment (crystallizer, secondary cooling zone, straightening zone, etc.) is installed inside a deep underground well. You can think of it as: placing a horizontal or curved continuous casting production line “vertically” into a deep well.

Features

During the vertical descent, non-metallic inclusions in the molten steel (such as oxides and sulfides), due to their lower density, have sufficient time and vertical space to float naturally upwards and enter the covering slag in the tundish or the protective slag in the crystallizer, without being drawn into the solidified billet. Extremely high internal purity: The number of inclusions inside the billet is extremely small, their size is extremely small, and their distribution is more dispersed. This is a characteristic of deep-well continuous casting.
